2016-2017 ISTEP Activity Guide - If you are an ISTEP Chapter and looking to participate in statewide tobacco prevention activities, the 2016-2017 ISTEP Activity Guide is a good place to start. Contact us for additional activity attachments. 

Find Your Community Partnership, Interactive Map - This map includes the contact information for our statewide community partnerships. If you are looking to start a chapter or need some assistance at the local level, there is a community partnership contact available to you. 

Model Tobacco Free- Nicotine Free Schools Policy - If you are looking to update your school policy to include all tobacco products or to add nicotine products such as e-cigarettes, this is the statewide model policy currently in use. 


National Resources

Youth Engagement Alliance - The Youth Engagement Alliance for Tobacco Control seeks to strengthen youth engagement within tobacco control by providing networking, resources and technical assistance to their 200+ member network by highlighting best practices and encouraging the sharing of ideas between coordinators in the field. This site is a great place to follow what happens nationally with tobacco prevention and youth engagement. 

Truth Initiative - Truth Initiative is dedicated to achieving a culture where all youth and young adults reject tobacco. "We speak, seek and spread the truth about tobacco through education, tobacco control research and policy studies, and community activism and engagement." Truth Initiative is also the 'parent organization' of the Truth Campaign

 

Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids - CTFK is a leading force in the fight to reduce tobacco use and its deadly toll in the United States and around the world. They have great resources, including fact sheets and the most current up to date happenings within tobacco control not only nationally but worldwide. 

Centers for Disease Control, Office on Smoking and Health (CDC) - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), through the Office on Smoking and Health (OSH), is the lead federal agency for comprehensive tobacco prevention and control. OSH is a division within the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, which is located within CDC’s Coordinating Center for Health Promotion.Originally established in 1965 as the National Clearinghouse for Smoking and Health, OSH is dedicated to reducing the death and disease caused by tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.
